Diestel Billed For Turkey Spill

Sonora, CA– The Tuolumne County Public Works Department has asked Diestel Turkey Ranch to pay for damages caused by a spill last month on Lyons Bald Mountain Road.


According to Public Works Director, Peter Rei, the accident on October 28th involving spilled turkey parts, caused $2,455 of county resources including time for labor, equipment and six tons of sand.


Rei said meetings are being planned to discuss further ways to prevent future incidents. A similar accident of spilled turkey parts happened in July of 2009.
