Groveland Lodging Project Up For Review

Groveland, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will decide whether to issue a conditional use permit for a project designed to increase lodging and entertainment options in Groveland.

Charles P. Holcomb is proposing to build a 37,000 sq. ft. lodging facility with 40 studio units on his ranch property located on Highway 120, a half mile east of Smith Station Road. It would also include a conference hall, indoor and outdoor dining, a dance hall, parking lot, pool, gift shop, seven guest cottages and a three bedroom detached guest house.

The Southern Tuolumne County Planning Commission voted to approve the project last month and the decision was appealed by the Central Sierra Environmental Resource Center. Some of the main concerns raised by CSERC were regarding access to available public water. Tuesday’s Supervisors meeting begins at 9am at the County Administration Center.
