Planning Commission Approves S.P.I Request

Standard, CA– Last night the Tuolumne County Planning Commission recommended approval of a proposal by Sierra Pacific Industries to rezone a section of land in Standard for commercial use.

The 15 acre piece of property is located on the west side of Standard Road, approximately 600 feet south of the Mono Way intersection. According to Tuolumne County Development Director, Bev Shane, the request was unanimously approved by the Planning Commission and had no opposition. The proposal will now be considered by the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors in a hearing December 7th at 1:30 pm in the Board of Supervisors Chambers.

The S.P.I property is next to the new “Standard Center”, which will soon include an AM/PM mini-mart and a fast food restaurant, in addition to the Tractor Supply store.

S.P.I has not outlined any specific plans for the property at this time and so far has only requested a change in zoning.
