Sonora, CA– Trent the turtle was stolen from the infant playground at Shaws Flat Early Head Start Center in Sonora Friday morning.
Although Trent is not a real turtle, the 231 pound giant tortoise statue was part of the ongoing beautification project of the Head Start playground. Trees and landscape have also been added to the area. Trent is 35 inches long and 22 inches wide and is worth approximately $150.
The Shaws Flat Early Head Start Center at 21125 Shaws Flat Road is asking anyone who has any information regarding Trent to call the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 533-5815.
