Bicycle Versus Vehicle

Update at 4:30 p.m.: The CHP reports that the wreckage has been removed from Parrotts Ferry Road in Columbia, allowing traffic to moving freely once again.

Update at 4 p.m.:  The CHP now reports that a 17 year-old male was riding the bike in front of Columbia Elementary School on Parrotts Ferry Road when struck by a vehicle just before 3 p.m. Officers are still directing traffic as the wreckage is blocking part of the roadway, so traffic is getting backed up. Luckily, just minor injuries are being reported in this collision.

Update at 3:30 p.m.: Officers are directing traffic as the wreckage is blocking Parrotts Ferry Road in Columbia. The CHP reports the individual on the bike is a juvenile and the collision happened in front of Columbia Elementary School.
