SRMC Will Demolish Former Hospital Campus

Sonora, CA – Sonora Regional Medical Center will tear down its former Sonora Community Hospital campus on South Forest Road. SRMC’s administration and governing board looked at several options for the vacant campus, but nothing was compatible with the existing buildings.

“The buildings are in poor condition with leaking roofs,” states Dave Larson, SRMC’s Senior VP for Finance. “It would be more prudent to remove the buildings than let them sit and decay.”

SRMC is uncertain about the future of the property following the demolition. The hospital has secured a contract with Olberg Construction for the work.
