Fire Near West Point Contained

West Point, CA — Firefighters have contained a vegetation fire that started yesterday near West Point, and crews remain on scene for mop up. The fire is in the area known as Blue Mountain near the middle fork of the Mokelumne River.


CAL Fire Spokesperson Lisa Williams says the fire burned approximately five acres of vegetation and no homes or buildings were damaged. The cause of the fire is unknown. Two engines, two hand crews and a battalion chief are out at the location.
