Me-Wuk Acorn Festival Kicks Off

Tuolumne, CA– The 44th annual Me-Wuk Acorn Festival kicked off today. The festival which honors the tradition of the seasonal acorn harvest, featured plenty of vendor booths including arts and crafts, jewelry and the popular Indian tacos.

Other attractions included traditional dancers, a hand games tournament, a deep pit barbecue and a Pow Wow. The Me-Wuk Acorn Festival is a free event and continues Sunday from 10:00 am to dusk at the Tuolumne Rancheria, seven miles east of Sonora..
