CHP Plans DUI Crackdown

Sonora, CA – This Labor Day weekend is the final Maximum Enforcement Period of the summer for the California Highway Patrol.

“The Sonora Area CHP has 11 black and white cars and all 11 will be out on the road this weekend,” says Officer Mike Remmel. “Last year during the Labor Day weekend we had a fatal accident, and we’ll be out trying to prevent that from happening this year.”

San Andreas based CHP officer Rebecca Myers states, “Have that designated driver, don’t drive drunk and don’t drive buzzed.”

All available officers will be on the road looking for DUI drivers from Friday at 6pm through late Monday evening.
