Lawmakers Approve Measure To Sell Property

Sacramento, CA– A measure by Senator Dave Cognill to sell more than 3 acres of state surplus land worth between $1.1 and $1.6 million is now headed to the Governor’s desk.

Senate bill 1167 would authorize the Department of General Services to sell two surplus properties. Proceeds from the sale of the properties will be applied to paying principal and interest from the state’s Economic Recovery Bonds. “Selling this surplus land will help the state maximize its resources and help relieve a small portion of the state’s debt load, “said Cogdill, who serves as the chair of the Senate Select Committee of Surplus Property.
