Utility Work Brings Detours In Calaveras County

Calaveras County, CA — A section of a main roadway from Rail Road Flat to Wilseyville will be closed three times for telephone line work.

North Railroad Flat Road will be completely shut down, once in June and twice in July, from Wells Fargo Station Road in Rail Road Flat to Noble Road in Wilseyville. The closures will allow Volcano Telephone crews to put lines currently overhead underground.

Calaveras County Public Works released this schedule:

June 24 – June 28, 2019 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

July 1, 2 and 3, 2019 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

July 8 – July 12, 2019 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Public works officials detail that emergency vehicles and residents will be allowed in the construction area during the closures. However, all through traffic will be rerouted onto Highway 26 from Associated Office Road in Wilseyville and Ridge Road in Rail Road Flat.

Motorists are asked to slow down near flaggers, crews and equipment and obey all detour signage while the work is underway.
