School Bus Safety Reminder

San Andreas, CA– With school starting this week, the CHP reminds motorists to always stop when encountering a school bus with flashing red lights.

CHP Officer Rebecca Myers said, “Whether children cross the road or not, all affected drivers are required to stop and remain stopped until the school bus driver has turned off the flashing red lights.” Myers added that failure to stop or remain stopped for a school bus could result in a citation with a minimum fine of $545.
