Markleeville, CA — Drift smoke has been visible in the area of Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass. A 50 acre fire is burning in the Humbolt-Toiyabe National Forest.
It is approximately 6 miles east of the Highland Lakes Campground in the Stanislaus National Forest. It has not crossed into the Stanislaus National Forest. The fire started Tuesday evening. Fire officials say no homes or structures are in danger.
