Maldonado May Owe Back Taxes

Sacramento, CA — California’s Lt. Governor reportedly owes the Federal Government more than $100,000 in back taxes.

The Associated Press reports that federal officials filed a lien against property Abel Maldonado owns in Santa Barbara County. The I.R.S. believes he underpaid a category that includes Social Security, Medicare and federal withholding contributions for employees on his 6,000 acre farm.

Maldonado is appealing claim. The dispute is regarding whether company officials used some vehicles for business or personal purposes.
