Property Values Fall

Sonora, CA — The value of property decreased over the past year across the Mother Lode.

Overall assessed property values fell in both Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. The overall assessment roll in Tuolumne County currently stands at $6.3 billion, a decrease of 4.86 percent from last year. In Calaveras County, the total assessment roll is $5.9 billion, equating to a 12.28 percent decrease over the past year.

The decreases are due to declines in the overall real estate market. The numbers were compiled by the Assessors’ offices in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.
