Emergency Tree Removal Slowing Sonora Traffic

Sonora, CA — A hazard tree felled earlier today by a local tree crew may create momentary traffic waits along a section of Greenley Road in Sonora until midafternoon.

According to Dean Alley of Alley Tree and Landscape, Tuolumne County officials requested the emergency removal since the tree, located in the vicinity of Lyons Bald Mountain Road, was leaning down over Greenley Road and presenting a public safety danger.. He adds that one-way traffic controls remain in place while the crew works to remove logs and other debris. Motorists may want to avoid the area if possible until 2 or 3 p.m., when Alley estimates the crew will be through with onsite cleanup.
