Hospital Donates To Non-Profits

San Andreas, CA – Three area non-profits have received donations through Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital/Catholic Healthcare West’s Community Grants program.

A combined $19,000 was awarded to the Volunteer Center of Calaveras County, The Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth, and Family and Mind Matters Clinic, Inc.

According to MTSJH, the Volunteer Center will use the funds to provide “safety net” transportation for life supporting tasks, and to collaborate with other organizations to respond to public emergencies.

Mind Matters Clinic funding will support intensive, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary services to address behavioral, social, family and academic needs of underserved individuals with autism, ADHA and other learning disorders.

The Blue Mountain Coalition will use the money to promote health through free weekly meals, basic health support activities and transit bus tickets to doctor and hospital appointments.

“We are both proud and humbled each year at our awards luncheon” said Robert Campana, chairman of the Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Health Care Corporation. “The work these not-for-profit agencies provide to the residents of Calaveras County adds enormous value to their lives. They need to be recognized for the great work they do”.

The donations were announced at a recent banquet.
