Mother Lode Fire Activity

Sonora, CA – Crews have extinguished three fires in Tuolumne County over the past 24 hours.

This morning a burn pile got out of control in the 19000 block of Rawhide Road in Jamestown. It was reported shortly after midnight and burned approximately one acre of grass.

Yesterday afternoon crews put out a chimney flue fire in the 22000 block of Yerba Santa Road in the Cedar Ridge area. It did $25,000 damage to the home and $2,000 damage to the contents. The roof of the structure and one bedroom had notable fire damage.

Also yesterday, fire burned a 100 x 100 ft. spot of grass in the 20800 block of Caylor Drive in Soulsbyville. It was started when a homeowner dumped ashes from a woodstove into nearby grass. It started at 11:45am.
