Missing Bodies Located In Yosemite

Yosemite, CA — Two bodies have been found over the past week along the Merced River in Yosemite National Park.

Officials report that a body found last Tuesday, approximately 100 yards below the Vernal Fall footbridge, is that of 27-year-old Ninos Yacoub of Turlock. Yacoub had been missing since July 19, when he and 22-year-old Hormiz David and 21-year-old Ramina Badal were witnessed being swept over a 317 foot waterfall.

Yosemite officials say another body was discovered Saturday, in the same general area of Yacoub’s. Positive identification has not been made, but officials believe it is likely Badal. David’s body was located on August 5, 240 ft. below the waterfall.

Park officials recently stepped up search operations when the weather conditions turned favorable.
