Injured Fire Captain Update

San Jose, CA — A CAL Fire Captain is now listed in stable condition after being injured in a Copperopolis house fire two weeks ago.

Officials report that Sue Arrouzet, 45, has a serious back injury and has been moved to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where she will start the rehabilitation process.

The 22 year CAL Fire veteran was injured November 12 after the roof of a home in the Saddle Creek subdivision collapsed while officials were putting out the blaze.

Arrouzet, who lives in Tracy, is currently assigned to the Copperopolis CAL Fire Station.

Cards and well wishes may be sent to Sue Arrouzet, CAL FIRE TCU, 785 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA 95249.  Monetary donations will also be accepted.  Arrouzet has requested such donations be made to the Ken Onstad Benevolent Fund (KOBF), 785 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA 95249. Sue Arrouzet’s name should be indicated on the donation.

The Ken Onstad Benevolent Fund was established in 1998 to assist employees of the Tuolumne/Calaveras Unit of the California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection. Its primary purpose is to provide immediate assistance to employees and their families in the event of injury, illness, or any other tragic event that may occur.
