Tuolumne County Furloughs

Sonora, CA — Many Tuolumne County government offices are closed all this week because of mandatory worker furloughs.

The Tuolumne County Supervisors approved 15 furlough days this year in an effort to save $4 million. Exceptions include emergency services (Sheriff, Fire and Ambulance), Health and Human Services, Fiscal Services, Animal Control, District Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office and the Probation Department.

The Community Resources Agency will provide snowplowing services in the event of a storm, and building inspectors will be available to respond to major emergencies.
