What Is Shop Local Saturday?

“Shop Local Saturday” will take place this Saturday November 19th.

Chris Caldwell, “Shop Local Saturday” founder and spokesperson, was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Locally owned retail stores in Tuolumne County are encouraged to participate with special deals, discounts, events, etc.

According to Caldwell, this event is designed to support local business just before the national focus on “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday”.

Motherlode residents are encouraged to look at http://www.facebook.com/shoplocalsaturday and then support the local businesses on Saturday.

Retail owners and managers that would like to participate in “Shop Local Saturday” are encouraged to post their information and offers on the facebook page.

For retail businesses that do not have a facebook account, you can either call Caldwell at (209) 532-5102 or e-mail your store name and special sale offer at shoplocalsaturday@gmail.com

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
