Patrol Car Involved In Collision

Bear Valley, CA — An Angels Camp man was involved in a fender bender with an Alpine County Sheriff’s Department patrol car.

The CHP reports that 56-year-old Ken Pettigrew was driving his 1974 Porsche southbound on Highway 4 directly behind the patrol car driven by 50-year-old Karl Benson. Benson started to turn south at the Highland Creek intersection, and Pettigrew locked up his brakes and struck the rear of the patrol vehicle. Both vehicles had moderate damage.

The accident was reported over the weekend, and there were no injuries.
