Flu Season Approaches

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County will begin offering flu shot clinics at the Public Health Office.

“It is extremely important to get a flu shot, particularly the elderly, those that have health problems and pregnant women,” says Kathy Amos, Nurse RN. “That said we encourage everyone to get a flu shot, because it really does help.”

The Flu Mist (nasal spray) is recommended for anyone between the ages of 2-49, and the traditional shot for anyone 50 and above. The flu shot clinics are Tuesday from 1-4pm at the Public Health office located at 20111 Cedar Road North.

Medicare will be billed for those covered, otherwise it is free of charge. Officials note that donations are appreciated.
