Former Sonora Teen Killed

Utah County, UT — A former Sonora teen was killed and her sister is in critical condition from a train accident that happened over the weekend in Utah.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office says that 15-year-old Kelsea Webster was killed, and her 13-year-old sister Savannah Webster was critically injured. A third teen, Essa Ricker of Utah, was also killed.

Utah media outlets report that the three were on the tracks taking photos of the fall scenery, when two trains came from opposite directions, striking the girls. It is unknown if they were hit by one or both trains. The Utah County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.

The accident was reported at 6:39pm on Saturday in an area known as Spanish Fork Canyon.

The two former Sonora girls had moved to Utah a couple of months ago.
