Supervisors Moving Forward With Ban

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County plans to outlaw storefront medical marijuana dispensaries.

The Supervisors voted 5-0 to have County Counsel make slight alterations to an ordinance that was up for debate this morning. The board indicated that they would like to find a way to allow legitimate patients to have access to cannabis, while still banning dispensaries. It is not immediately known how the final ordinance will compare.

The Board felt that the current system is being abused because of how easy it can be to get a medical marijuana prescription, especially in larger cities.

The City of Sonora passed a similar ban on August 1st.
