Officials plan to have Highway 49 open by around 8pm tonight.
The CHP, Caltrans and the County Road Department have been on scene since around 1pm cleaning liquid asphalt off the highway. A big rig truck and two other vehicles were involved in a crash that resulted in the big rig overturning near Mokelumne Hill. One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to Sutter Amador Hospital.
The closure has been from Mokelumne Hill to the Calaveras-Amador County line.
