Sonora, CA — The National Weather Service has issued a “Red Flag” fire warning for the region.
Lightning and thunderstorms are possible this weekend. The National Weather Service says the Red Flag Fire Warning (primarily due to the threat of dry lightning) runs from 3pm today through 8pm Saturday. The storm system is expected to initially be dry and then become increasingly wet by late Saturday.
Areas included in the Red Flag Warning include the Mother Lode, San Joaquin Valley and Sierra Nevada.
