Motor Fire Near Containment

Mariposa County, CA — The 5,231 acre Motor Fire is now 95% contained.

Some interior smoke has been observed, and the fire continues to smolder in areas. 505 firefighters are still assigned to the incident, but the number is expected to gradually reduce throughout the day. The fire has low growth potential, and all evacuation orders have been lifted. Stanislaus National Forest Road 1S12 remains closed because of the various engines and resources parked near the fire.

Highway 140 into Yosemite National Park is wide open heading into the Labor Day weekend.
