Ross Stores Revenue Is Up

Pleasanton, CA– The department store chain Ross is beating analysts’ projections.

The Associated Press reports that August revenue at stores open at least a year rose 4 percent to beat Wall Street forecasts.

For the four weeks that ended August 27th, total revenue increased 8 percent to $659 million. Year-to-date total revenue was up 8 percent to $4.46 billion.

Some of the strongest-performing categories were dresses and shoes. Vice Chairman and CEO Michael Balmuth said in a statement that the company’s performance benefited from shoppers seeking brand-name products at low prices.
