SAF Director Telecommuting

Sonora, CA — The Executive Director of the Sonora Area Foundation still visits the office, but is now primarily telecommuting from his new home in Idaho.

The SAF Board of Directors approved the new arrangement for Director Greg Applegate, at his request. Board President Jim Johnson says that Applegate and his wife indicated that they wished to be closer to family in Idaho. Johnson says Applegate has agreed to stay on as Executive Director through the end of the year, but they will begin the process of trying to fill the position on a long-term basis.

Past Executive Mick Grimes is helping out by handling some of the day-to-day work in the office, but Applegate remains the head of the organization.

The non-profit Sonora Area Foundation provides donations to countless projects in the community. It was founded in 1990.
