Supervisors Revisit Budget

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will hold a special meeting on Thursday to update the fiscal year 2011-12 budget.

The preliminary budget was approved in June, and eliminated around 80 positions. A combined $5.2 million was cut from various departments.

“We’ll freshen it up using our fund balance information received from the State of California,” stated CAO Craig Pedro at Tuesday’s Supervisors meeting. “We’ve been able to add a few things, so there are a lot more positives then negatives. There’s very little in terms of significant staffing changes at this time.”

The meeting begins at 9am and it will be streamed live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
