Pools Remain Closed

Columbia, CA — The Tuolumne Recreation Department reports that the pools in Columbia and Tuolumne will remain closed this summer.

The two locations are receiving improvements thanks to state Proposition 40 funding. Recreation Department Supervisor Eric Aitken says new buildings are being constructed to house pool chemicals and equipment. Additionally, equipment like the heaters and pumps are being replaced. Originally the Recreation Department had hoped to open the pools at some point this summer, but the season only lasts a couple more weeks.

The pools will re-open for swimming lessons and recreation next summer.
