Fireworks Started Fire

Officials believe that a Monday evening vegetation fire in Tuolumne County was started by illegal fireworks.

The quarter acre fire was reported shortly before 6pm in the 7000 block of O’Byrnes Ferry Road. CAL Fire Investigator Rommie Jones notes that Roman Candles were found in the area, but no suspects could be located. It caused an estimated $50 in damage.

CAL Fire units responded from Columbia Air Base, Groveland, Copperopolis, Green Springs, Altaville and Sierra Conservation Center.
