Firefighters Staying Busy

West Point, CA — There was a fire last night near West Point that was contained at 3:30 this morning.

It was in an isolated area of Hermit Springs. The exact size is not yet known, but it is believed to be anywhere from 5-10 acres. Some local Tuolumne-Calaveras firefighters were also sent to Kern County and Fresno County to help fight larger fires. Crews were dispatched to a 100 plus acre fire near Reedley last night and a 4,700 acre fire in Kern County.
