Shots Fired In Phoenix Lake Area

Sonora, CA – The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the Phoenix Lake area this morning because a man was reportedly firing gunshots inside.

Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Sgt. Jeff Wilson says that witnesses told law enforcement that Donald Conway, one of the residents, fired the shots and was possibly still inside. The home is located on Hidden Valley Road near the intersection of Creekside Drive.

The area was surrounded by law enforcement officials and multiple announcements were made over a loud speaker asking Conway to step outside. When there was no response, SWAT Team members forced entry into the home and found it empty. Conway is currently missing and being sought for questioning regarding the incident. Anyone with information should contact the Sheriff’s Office at 533-5815.
