Sonora School Board Votes On Superintendent

Sonora, CA– Summerville Elementary School District Superintendent and Principal Leigh Shampain is set to become a shared Superintendent with the Sonora Elementary School District.

“The shared superintendent has become a must have for any school in this county due to finances,” said Sonora School board president Casey Littleton. “Economics aside, we have to get the right person to fit with the staff and the students and Leigh does both of those. He brings a great financial background, he’s well respected and he’s been in the superintendent role at Summerville for the last ten years.”

This Friday, the Sonora Elementary School District Board of Trustees will vote on a memorandum of understanding with Summerville Elementary regarding a shared agreement with Shampain. The board will meet at 3 pm in the Sonora Elementary School Library.
