Parking For Outdoor Recreationists

Mokelumne Hill, CA — Motorists may experience some traffic delays throughout the summer on Highway 49 near the Calaveras-Amador County line.

The Bureau of Land Management will be constructing a parking lot near the Mokelumne River Bridge. BLM spokesperson David Christy says the project will begin within the next couple of weeks and should be completed sometime in late August.

There will be 18 parking spaces for sightseers and outdoor recreationists near the bridge. The BLM is asking that motorists use caution while driving during the construction.
