Murphys Dance Instructor Sentenced

San Andreas, CA — A Murphys dance teacher has been sentenced to 60 days in jail for having sex with a 16-year-old boy.


32-year-old Sarah May, who is the owner of the Satori Jazz Dance Company, pleaded no contest to one felony count of having sex with a minor. Calaveras County Judge Thomas A. Smith imposed the sentence on Monday.


According to the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office, May was also sentenced to three years on probation.   As part of her probation agreement, she is prohibited from teaching boys between the ages of 10 through 17 without another adult over the age of 25 unless their parents are notified of her conviction and sign a release.
