Drive With Caution On These Roads

Sonora, CA– The Tuolumne County Office of Emergency Services and the County Public Works Department are advising residents to use caution near two County roads.

Italian Bar Road from the Columbia end is currently experiencing several mudslides at various locations.

Although the road is closed to through traffic, it will remain open to residents. Residents are advised to use extreme caution when traveling the road. The access via Twain Harte and South Fork is currently available.

Another Tuolumne County road comprised by the latest storms this week is Harper Road in Groveland.  According to the  County Public Works Department, there was a large hole that developed in the road, possibly an old mine shaft that had resurfaced due to the excessive water from the storms. It was barricaded off until it could be repaired. That repair has now taken place.
