Olsen Speaks Out On Budget

Sacramento, CA– Assemblymember Kristin Olsen today issued a statement regarding her votes to support cutting government spending.

Wednesday, the Assembly voted on nine budget-related bills.

“Yesterday, we took an important step toward closing our budget deficit by passing bills to reduce state spending by $7.4 billion,” said Olsen. “These were not votes that I took lightly. I recognize that many Californians will be impacted by these cuts and they were not easy to make. But the only road to financial stability is making difficult but necessary reductions to our spending. It is equally as important that we enact long-term reforms to change the way government operates and to grow jobs in California.”

More budget-related bills are expected to come before the Assembly today.

Assemblymember Kristin Olsen represents the 25th Assembly District in the California Legislature, which includes Angels Camp and Sonora.
