Diesel Truck Laws

Sonora, CA — A meeting will be held in Sonora next week to talk about new state rules going into effect for diesel trucks and tractors. New restrictions regarding emissions are going into effect as part of AB 32, the state’s climate change legislation passed in 2006.

“The information and projections from CARB (Ca. Air Resources Board) have recently changed, so they have extended the deadline to report and comply,” says Sasha Farkas, Tuolumne County Farm Bureau President. “A lot of people are waiting to see what is going to happen and what they will have to do to comply with the new rules.”

The open workshop regarding emissions laws will focus on how to comply, and what vehicles qualify for an agricultural vehicle extension. The meeting will be held Monday, from 1-3pm, at the Sonora Opera Hall. It is hosted by the Farm Bureau.
