Tuolumne County Educational Award Winner

Sonora, CA– Sonora resident, Danna Fritz has received the STAR award from the California County Superintendents Educational Association (CCSESA) for her outstanding work on the Steering Committee.

Fritz, a Human Resources Director for the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Office, has been a member of the Steering Committee for the past eight years and Treasurer for the last three years.

According to Fritz, there are five steering committees from CCSESA. Each steering committee nominates one person from their group each year to be honored. The CCSESA committee initiates collaborative leadership with school districts and identifies statewide curriculum and staff development needs.

“I’m very honored and humbled,” said Fritz. “Out of 58 counties from huge Los Angeles County to little Tuolumne County, it’s an honor to be recognized for my work.”

Fritz says the committee had gone through some changes with accounting procedures and she was able to streamline things that made more money available for special projects.

Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Joe Silva also praised Fritz and said, “They selected Danna who serves on this statewide committee as their STAR Award winner. That means of all the personnel directors from all of the county offices, they chose Danna for the work that she’s done in terms of providing support for districts and other county offices. We are very proud.”
