Winter Adventure Programs Offered

Pinecrest, CA– The Summit Ranger District and the Pinecrest Nordic Ski Patrol will offer snow programs this Sunday, January 16th and also Sunday, February 13th.

“These programs are geared toward families and individuals interested in having fun or getting exercise in the snow while learning about winter safety”, said Summit District Ranger Karen Caldwell. “These interactive programs will be held at the Crabtree Nordic Trailhead near Dodge Ridge Ski Resort.”

Members of the Pinecrest Nordic Ski Patrol will demonstrate how to build emergency shelters and emphasize basic navigation skills. Proper winter clothing will also be discussed.

Each Winter Adventure will last approximately two hours and will not require skis or snowshoes in order to participate. Programs are free of charge and will take place regardless of the weather.
