Another Gasoline Theft This Week

Sonora, CA– Another gasoline theft has been reported this week at a local high school.

The Sonora Police Department says the gasoline theft reported at Sonora High School is estimated to have taken place over the winter break.

“Sonora High School reported sometime between December 22nd and December 26th, an unknown responsible had damaged the filler pipes to two of their vehicles,” said Police Chief Mark Stinson. “An unknown amount of gasoline was taken from the vehicles gas tanks and due to the cutting of the filler pipes, there was about $1,000 damage.”

Stinson says the Sonora Police Department has no leads or suspects at this time.

On Wednesday, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Robert Hagen of Oakhurst for allegedly stealing five gallons of gas from a Summerville High School vehicle.
