“Hearts For Megan” Fundraiser

Sonora, CA– A benefit for Rylee Smith and Leukemia Research is happening Saturday, January 15th at the Sonora Elks Lodge from 4:00-8:00 pm.


Rylee Smith is the surviving daughter of former Sonora resident Megan Boyack Smith who passed away from a stroke last November in Buffalo, New York. The 27-year-old had been undergoing treatment for leukemia that was diagnosed in July after the birth of Rylee.


Smith’s husband, Ryan Smith documented his wife’s cancer battle on a Facebook page entitled, “Prayers for Megan” that had received over 4,000 friends. Smith’s parents are current Sonora residents Doug and Pam Boyack. Doug Boyack is a Tuolumne County Superior Court judge.


The “Hearts For Megan” fundraiser will also feature live music by the Black Irish Band and the Sonora Jazz Band. For ticket information call 532-8430 or 743-9895.
