Sonora, CA – The injured three month old baby girl remains on life support at an Oakland Hospital. The father, 26 year old Kevin Boehmer, is currently facing a felony charge of cruelty to a child resulting in injury or death. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s officials say that charge could escalate to a more serious offense as the investigation continues.
Sgt. Jeff Wilson says, “The baby has visible marks on her neck and chest. The hospital will be taking x-rays to see if she has any past injuries.”
Wilson says they are still trying to sort out all the details. He says charges may also be brought against the girl’s mother. She is currently serving time in a Washington prison for a child abuse incident regarding a different child.
