Non-Profits Receive Help

San Andreas, CA — Several Calaveras County organizations will receive some much needed funding.


The Calaveras Community Foundation has announced their second round of grant recipients for 2012. $21,800 will go to 11 organizations. Among the recipients are the Lions Club of West Point, Calaveras Youth Mentoring, the Food Pantries in Mokelumne Hill and Copperopolis, Boy Scout Troop 302, the Calaveras Arts Council, and others.


Linda Kangeter, CCF President, states, “The continued generosity of our donors has enabled the foundation to support worthwhile projects throughout our county that can make a real difference in the lives of our residents.”


A total of $47,000 in grants was given out by the foundation this year. The foundation reports that the latest round focused on programs benefitting special needs children, feeding the hungry, scouts, youth mentoring, building maintenance, communications and preserving county history.


The Foundation has awarded more than $650K in grants since its inception in 2000.
