TC Chamber Emphasizes “Shop Local Saturday”

“Shop Local Saturday” will take place in Tuolumne County this Saturday November 24th.

George Segarini, Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce President, was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Nationally speaking, the Saturday after “Black Friday” is called “Shop Small Saturday”.

The TC Chamber agrees that the majority of their members are already “small” and are instead reminding Mother Lode residents to remember the importance of shopping locally.

Locally owned retail stores in Tuolumne County are encouraged to participate with special deals, discounts, events, etc.

According to Segarini, this event is also designed to support local business just before the national focus on “Cyber Monday”. Internet shopping can hurt local businesses just as badly as out-of-town shopping.

Motherlode residents are encouraged to look at the chamber website and support the local businesses on Saturday. The information can be found at http://www.tcchamber.com.

Retail owners and managers that would like to participate in “Shop Local Saturday” are encouraged to post their promotions and offers on both the TCC webpage and by using other local sources within Tuolumne County.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
