Wild Ride Through Neighborhood

Copperopolis, CA — Only minor injuries were reported when a car drove through a couple of fences and into the back porch of a home.

The CHP reports that the accident happened Sunday afternoon shortly before two o’clock. 65-year-old Joan Paris of Copperopolis was driving south on O’Byrnes Ferry Road near the intersection of Copper Cove Drive. The CHP says Paris was driving around 40 mph when she made an unsafe turning movement. It caused her 2005 Mitsubishi to go off the roadway shoulder and down a dirt hill.

The vehicle then slammed through a fence and went through the backyard of 283 Deerfield Circle. She then went through another fence at 289 Deerfield Circle, and came to a stop after colliding with the home’s back porch.

Paris was taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center to treat “minor injuries.”
